New Gear’s Eve Bike Ride
New Gear’s Eve Bike Ride begins at Camp Allegany on December 31 2024 at 6:00 p.m., with the ride starting at 6:30 p.m. Grab your bike and some friends to join Allegany staff and other fat bike enthusiasts for the last ride of the year. Bring lights, wear warm and reflective gear and a helmet. Participants may be split into different paced groups, if necessary. No one will be left behind. There will be a social to follow the ride in the Rec Hall at Camp Allegany. Bring your own snacks. Questions: Call the Environmental Education Department (716) 379-6939.
1st Day Hike
Date & Time: Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Location: Allegany State Park - Red House Area (Allegany). Event Details: Hike Route: This year's hike will be on the bike path around Red House Lake. Please note that the surface is unplowed, so dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear or snowshoes. Meet-up Location: Red House Picnic Pavilion. Approximate Distance: 3 miles. Refreshments: From 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, The Friends of Allegany State Park will provide hot dogs, chips, hot chocolate, and coffee. Pet Policy: Leashed pets are welcome. Kick off the new year with a refreshing hike, enjoy the scenic views, and warm up with some tasty treats provided by The Friends of Allegany State Park.
Monthly Fat Bike Rides at Allegany State Park
Meet other fat bike enthusiasts at these Friday night fun rides. Friday, January 17, February 14, and March 14 at 6:30 pm, with the rides starting at 6:45 pm. Bring warm clothes, a helmet, a head light, and sense of adventure. Check in will be at Camp Allegany in January and February and the Red House Administration Building on March 14th.

Winter Art Crawl
The Seneca-Iroquois National Museum proudly houses an extensive collection of Hodinöhsö:ni’ historical and traditionally designed decorative and every-day-use items and artifacts. Join us at the Onöhsagwë: de’ Cultural Center for a day of shopping. Native artists and craftspeople will be set up indoors, throughout the building. Free and open to the public. Cooking Over the Coals @ Allegany State Park
Join Allegany State Park for a special evening with guest presenter Michelle Miller, Mohawk-Turtle, at Camp Allegany on November 15th, starting at 5:30pm. Experience the tradition of cooking over the coals, a practice the Seneca have embraced for centuries. Enjoy delicious food, captivating stories, and a walk under the Beaver Full Moon, all while celebrating Indigenous identity and culture. Michelle Miller has been a resident of the Seneca Allegany Territory in Salamanca, NY, since 1996. The culture and history of the Seneca have become an integral part of her and her children’s lives. Since 2009, she has been teaching Seneca Language and Culture and is currently involved with the Women's Ceremonial and Cultural Department at the Seneca Nation. Michelle possesses extensive knowledge of plants, medicines, cultural, and historical practices and is eager to share with others. The Fray Performs Live
Start your Beer and Wine Festival experience a day early as you Crawl Outta Fall. Sunflowers & Sunsets
Summer nights prove to be both inspiring and calming as the sun sets behind the sunflowers on the hill! Bring a blanket and snacks (no glass please) and hang out around the Songin Farm in Hinsdale, NY from 6:00-9:00pm, a little past closing time, to enjoy the scene even longer! A flashlight or headlamp may be a good idea to make it back down the hill. Enjoy the countryside as you make your way up to the top for stunning valley views. Sunflowers available for purchase, but no cost to come and spend the evening on the hill. Beginning and end dates vary slightly season to season. Final Summer Drum Circle
The Griffis Sculpture Park will be hosting a monthly drum circle over the next month. The final drum circle is set to take place on Saturday, August 24th from 6:30-8:00pm. This event will be happening at the Rohr Hill Road section of the park and is free to all who would like to participate, no matter your skill level. Drum Circle facilitator Steve Bell, will be leading the circle and will also be bringing a few percussion instruments for participants to use. Attendees should bring a lawn chair and dress accordingly for the weather.
2024 CCA Back to School Bash
Need a little assistance getting your kids ready for school? Connecting Communities in Action (CCA) can help you out with that! On August 23rd from 2:00-4:00pm, come and have a blast at the CCA Back to School Bash, a community resources fair. There will be games, prizes, and crafts. School supplies, personal hygiene products and even limited back-to-school haircuts will be provided. Popcorn, hot dogs, and refreshments will be available for visitors. This is a FREE, open to the community event. Come out and spend an afternoon with the kids before school is back in session. Music in the Park & Cornhole Tournament
Come down to Bicentennial Park on Erie St. in Little Valley Thursday, August 22nd for the final "Music in the Park" this summer hosted by Friends of Little Valley along with a cornhole tournament hosted by $lick $hooters Cornhole! Music begins at 6pm, featuring the "Iron Eyes Experience", a local three piece group based out of Salamanca. The band is well known for their rock and blues style that can be heard echoing throughout the enchanted mountains of Cattaraugus County! Working with the city and members of the business community, the Chamber is announcing “StrOlean,” the event aims to bring folks to the downtown shopping district for an evening of fun. StrOlean will stretch from Laurens Street to State Street, and will be transformed into a bustling festival, complete with over 50 vendors, food, music, and games. This year marks the first time that StrOlean will see the closure of a block of North Union Street to traffic, creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly festival atmosphere in the heart of Olean's revitalized downtown. Local favorite Generations will kick off the live entertainment, performing from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. next to the City Building. Following that, an original music showcase will take place in front of Beat City Music from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

(Southern Tier Aero Radio Society) Flying Club's flying field during their 47th Annual Fun Fly along with a classic car show on Saturday! This will be a Fun-Fly event, meaning that if you own a glider, scale airplane, helicopter, sport plane, quad-copter, or basically anything that flies RC, they will do their best to accommodate you during the weekend event. There is a full scale grass runway. Raffles & 50/50! $10 a car- portion of proceeds beenfits the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
