Ellicottville’s First-Ever Battle of the Bands Adds New Energy to Summer Music Festival
Ellicottville Battle of the Bands: Vote Live and Help Pick the Opener for Hailey Whitters at Summer Music Fest 2025
The 2025 Ellicottville Summer Music Festival is turning up the volume this year with an exciting new addition: Battle of the Bands. On Friday, July 4th from 5:00-10:00pm, Ellicottville will come alive with music as local bands compete for the ultimate prize - a coveted Main Stage slot as the opening act for Saturday’s headliner show, country sensation Hailey Whitters, at Holiday Valley.
Spread across various bars and restaurants in the village, this high-energy showdown gives festival-goers the chance to experience a wide range of homegrown talent while playing a key role in deciding the winner.
“Battle of the Bands is a fun, interactive way to spotlight our local music scene and give up-and-coming performers a chance to shine,” said Barb Pump, Executive Director of the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce. “We’re thrilled to bring something new to the festival lineup and get the whole community involved.”
Here’s how it works: Voting opens when the first band performs Friday at 6:00pm and stays live until 10:30pm. Attendees can cast their votes on the spot through the QR code which will be posted at each venue. And the best part? You can vote as many times as you like! So if a band blows you away, let them know with your vote (or ten).
With multiple venues hosting competing bands throughout the evening, music lovers can wander the village, grab a bite, sip a drink, and soak up the tunes. From rock to funk, alternative to country, there’s something for every ear.
“We’ve always been proud of the local talent that comes out of our region,” Pump said. “This event not only celebrates that, but adds an exciting new twist to the festival’s Friday night. It’s going to be very exciting!”
So grab your crew, put on your dancing shoes, and help decide who earns their place on the big stage. The Battle is on, and Ellicottville is ready to rock!
