There’s lots happening in January at Holiday Valley Resort, and more details can be found on their website at holidayvalley.com, their Facebook or their Instagram.
LEARN TO SKI OR SNOWBOARD
January is National Learn a Snowsport month and Holiday Valley is the perfect place to do such a thing! Whether you aspire to become a skier or a snowboarder, Holiday Valley offers great opportunities for beginners of all ages, like their Learn to Ski or Ride program for first time skiers or snowboarders ages 12+. Daytime lessons include a lift ticket to the School Haus beginner area, rental equipment, and 1.5 hour group ski or snowboard lesson. Register and receive rental equipment at the Creekside Lodge. Daily lessons run from 10:30am-1:30pm. (Please arrive at the Creekside Lodge at least 30 minutes prior to your lesson.)
HOLIDAY VALLEY TUBING CO.
Another way to enjoy the snow is at the Holiday Valley Tubing Park, which features 20 lanes that are 900 feet long and drop 100 vertical feet. A conveyor lift will bring you back to the top so you can make hot laps all day long! There’s even a special Li'l Tubers area for children under 42" for $12. A cozy warming hut is located at the base of the hill with a snack bar, fireplace and restrooms. Or you can warm up outside at the giant bonfire pit. For information, please call 716-699-TUBE. The Holiday Valley Tubing Company is located on the corner of Route 242 E and Bryant Hill Road, just 4 miles from Holiday Valley. Conditions have been fantastic! Come have a totally tubular time!
MOUNTAIN COASTER
If you’re looking for more thrills, a "must do" while visiting Holiday Valley is the Mountain Coaster, located near the Tannenbaum Lodge. The coaster takes you up adjacent to the Spruce Chairlift before weaving in and out of the trees on the way back down. Riders on this coaster are able to control their speed with brakes on the car. Hop on solo or with a partner and zip through the trees! (Drivers must be at least 8-years-old and 54” tall. Children must be at least 3-years-old and over 38” (without shoes) to accompany a driver who is at least 16-years-old. Combined weight cannot exceed 350 lbs.) The Coaster operates during the winter season from 11:00am-6:00pm Friday through Sunday, plus holidays.
EDNA’S AT THE TAMARACK CLUB
Take a break from the outdoor activities and warm up with some delicious food at Edna’s. Respectfully named after one of Holiday Valley's founding members, guests of Edna's at the Tamarack Club can expect a high-quality, relaxed dining experience in a beautiful setting that offers panoramic views of the ski slopes in the winter and the golf course and resort pools in the summer. From casual fare such as stone-fired Margherita Pizza and Beef on Weck Eggrolls to more refined dishes like Grilled Branzino with Basil Pesto and Tomato Risotto, the menu will appeal to a variety of appetites. Open for lunch and dinner, daily at 11:00am. BONUS: On Fridays, come dine at Edna’s and listen to live music from 3:00-6:00pm. It’s the perfect way to kick off the weekend!
