For the fourth consecutive year, Mud, Sweat n’ Gears is teaming up with Blizzard/Tecnica to bring the Women 2 Women (W2W) event back to Ellicottville - a celebration of women’s skiing, cutting-edge gear, and the camaraderie that makes the sport so special. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or just starting to explore the slopes, this two-day event is an opportunity to test top-tier equipment, connect with fellow skiers, and learn from Leslie Baker Brown, a former champion skier and the driving force behind Blizzard’s Women 2 Women initiative, all in a fun and supportive environment.

From wine and waxing to on-snow demos and an après-ski gathering, here’s everything you need to know about this year’s bigger-than-ever W2W event with Mud, Sweat n’ Gears and HoliMont. The fun begins on Thursday, February 20th with an evening at Mud, Sweat n’ Gears with Leslie Baker Brown from 6:00-8:00pm. Leslie Baker Brown, a longtime industry expert and advocate for women in skiing, leads Blizzard/Tecnica’s Women 2 Women initiative, driving innovation in ski gear designed specifically for female skiers. Guests can enjoy wine and cheese while getting their skis waxed, meet new people, and learn more about the new Blizzard Black Pearl collection.

Kim Reading, owner of Mud, Sweat n' Gears, said, “Leslie will do a deep dive talk about this best-selling women’s ski collection, and talk about the recent innovations and improvements. The Blizzard Black Pearl collection has been our best-selling women’s skis at MSG for several years. With the recent upgrades, they’re a game-changer. We’re inviting participants to come meet the better Black Pearl.”

The fun continues on Friday at HoliMont, where representatives from Blizzard and other brand ambassadors will be on hand throughout the day. “It’s an incredible opportunity to ski with Leslie and ask her questions about the new Black Pearl collection,” Reading noted. “We encourage women to try as many skis as possible to find the best fit.” Friday includes a delicious lunch catered by Dina’s at the Mont, which will be followed by more skiing in the afternoon.

Reading is pleased to share that this year’s event includes an impressive array of prizes donated by Save The Duck, Skida, Kari Traa, Krimson Klover, Alp n’ Rock, Auclair Gloves, Smith, Giro, Sweet Protection, along with a pair of skis from Blizzard. “It’s the biggest raffle we’ve had for the event,” she said. “Participants are sure to walk away with a prize!” The event concludes with an après ski party at The Banq, with complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

Those who are interested should sign up as soon as possible. The event is limited to 50 participants, and the sign-up deadline is Monday, February 17th; however, Reading said they will most likely sell out before then, as Women 2 Women has become an annually anticipated event! “The event has been successful because it’s all about like-minded women who love to ski,” she explained. “It’s about building a community of female skiers who are looking to share experiences and celebrate a passion for skiing. Ultimately, we want to get more women out skiing by teaching them about the advances in women-specific gear that Leslie Baker Brown and her team has pioneered through the Women 2 Women initiative.”

Reading is eager for participants to try Blizzard’s new Black Pearl collection, which has been regarded as the most popular in women’s skis year after year. “The beauty of the Black Pearl is that it caters to pros without alienating intermediate skiers,” said Reading. “I’m excited for participants to try the new Black Pearl collection with all its new tech and refined shape. Nimble, energetic and balanced… the new Black Pearl checks all the boxes!”

To those who are considering joining in on the fun this year, Reading’s advice is simple: “Grab a friend and sign up soon!” Learn more and purchase tickets online at www.mudsweatgears.com or call 716-699-8300.
