Madison Szpaicher, a 2017 Alfred State College sport management graduate, has been able to find a career that combines her love of sports and her desire to help others, with the P.U.N.T. Foundation.

With an eye on the future, Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, NY is planning the construction of a 6-passenger chairlift starting in the summer of 2022, with completion of the lift in September 2023.

In this new year comes many new events. One in particular is the Women2Women, a global program dedicated to creating a diverse and engaged community of female skiers.

The Ellicottville Town Board wasted no time getting organized for the New Year when they met on Jan. 5th in a telephone session, to make routine appointments for public offices and determine policy matters.

The Ellicottville volunteer crew picked up the last of the donations, filling a 26-foot box truck, and hit the road to Kentucky in the early hours of Dec. 23rd to help make Christmas a little brighter for victims of the recent tornadoes.

What can we expect for January? The theme of the month is the connections we have with other people in our lives. We start January still under the influence of a retrograding Venus in Capricorn.

The Ellicottville Village Board of Trustees voted to amend the zoning code for secondary dwelling units and/or lockout rooms during a virtual meeting held Dec. 21st.

The Ellicottville Town Board, meeting for its monthly session Dec. 15th by telephone hookup, has scheduled a public hearing on a proposed agreement for cable services from Spectrum Northeast LLC. 

The installation banquet for the Ellicottville Fire Department was held Saturday, Dec. 11th. The new 2022 officers were sworn in and the EFD also recognized 15 of their top responders.

This year’s Christmas in Ellicottville Breakfast with Santa raised donations for the Ellicottville Food Pantry in the form of non-perishable food items and $783 in cash donations.

The Virtual Auction held online last Friday Dec. 17th night was certainly a great time for all that participated.  Bob’s presence was obvious to all for Bob McCarthy’s 16th annual Irish Christmas. 

It started with a Facebook post.  J.P. O’Connell saw a photo of a man whose family lost everything in the recent tornadoes that ripped through Kentucky. 

Who says you can’t open a business in the middle of a global pandemic? Certainly not Gabby Iuculano, who not only started her own business in Lakewood, but also opened a second location in Ellicottville this fall!
